Changes and a Celebration

Vanilla Extract

There have been a lot of changes around here! How do you like my new digs? Well I love them! It was a lot of work and quite a few hiccups and changes along the way but its all done and I’m really happy with the results!

It is also my 2 year Blogiversary, well actually it was in August but with all of the changes on the website. I decided to wait and celebrate everything together! It doesn’t feel like it has been 2 years at all. I feel like a newbie most days! And in addition to my 2 year Blogiversary I am also so close to 200 posts, so since I celebrated that late I’m going to celebrate 200 posts early to even it all out.

So what am I going to do to celebrate my Blogiversary? I’m going to give 3 lucky readers a present! I know its backwards, and you should be giving me a present, but I’ll let it slide this one time.

So what can you hope to win! Well 2 lucky winners will win a bottle of my Hand Crafted Vanilla Extract! And the 3rd and luckiest of all winners ever, will win that and a surprise basket full of goodies from me. That is right a surprise, I’m not telling! And why 3 winners, well if you ever watched School House Rock then you will have your answer. If not look it up!

So are you chomping at the bit yet?

  3. Best surprise ever? Hmm, seems kinda cheesy but for my birthday one year, my boyfriend said he was taking me somewhere that was a surprise, and knowing I love nature (and he's not so outdoorsy), he drove me to a cool park that we hiked through near Fort Mason, and then we spent the rest of the day just enjoying sunny San Francisco. The simple gestures I love.

  4. Love your new look! Congrats on 2 years too! I was surprised when my hubby proposed. I knew we were going to get married, we had discussed it, but I wasn't sure when we were getting engaged. He asked me on our trip to San Francisco, at a park overlooking the GG bridge and bay. It was the best!

  5. Happy two year anniversary to you! I'm very tough to surprise, so when my boyfriend now husband proposed, I was quite surprised. He had hidden my engagement ring behind his set of "The Lord of the Rings" books. Although they are some of my favorites, he knew I'd never look there. :)

  6. A sweet surprise was when my hubby got my new name engraved on my scriptures right after we were married. Sounds corny, but it was touching that he wanted me to have a new set for my new life!

  7. One of the best surprises I got happened last week. For my 40th birthday, my parents gave me my grandmother's engagement ring. I didn't even know they had it. It's beautiful and I think of my grandmom every time I put the ring on.

  8. I love the new digs! The best surprise I ever got was when the doctor "accidentally" told me I was having a girl. I didn't want to know, but I was convinced it was a boy! Lucky thing he told me because otherwise she would be wearing a lot of blue.

  10. My best surprise was when my husband bought me a special teardrop shaped pendant in my dad's birthstone. My dad had passed away...It meant and still does mean so much to me!

  11. My best surprise...Waking up on Mother's Day a few years ago and jumping into the shower. When finished and returning to my bedroom, to my amazement there were literally hundreds of roses everywhere. My daughter Brooke had gotten up at 6am ( A HUGE feat in itself for her!) and bought out Jewel's roses. It was truly an amazing sight, smell and now memory!

  20. The best surprise was getting engaged in Africa in a hot air balloon. My boyfriend then, hubby now was a Marine deployed in the Horn of Africa a few years ago and during is one week of leave we were able to meet in Kenya and be popped the question while we were soaring over the Masi Mara plains. Was the best surprise ever!!

  21. My best surprise ever was a purple sparkly bike with streamers on the handles and a flower power banana seat when I was six years old! I loved that bike--and the best part was that my parents, who couldn't afford to get me a new bike, bought a used one and had a friend who worked at a body shop paint it with extra car paint!

  22. OK, first of all -- your new look is awesome. I love it!! Congrats on two great years. And HERE is to many more!!

Best surprise ever would have to be the weekend that my DH conspired (with my MIL) to send me to a writing workshop up in Door County, WI for my birthday. We got most of the way to Door County before I even realized where I was going!

  25. Amanda reminded me - biggest two surprises of my life were the sexes of my babies. Guessed wrong both times, once a girl, once a boy. I'd even assured my 1st she'd have a sister:)

  29. Katie...Happy 200th post and 2 Years!!!! I have you bookmarked in my favorite favorites.

Best surprise ever...first year Aubrey and I were married, we had known each other less than a year and immediately moved from LA to NJ. I had admired a wonderful Native American crafted necklace in a local shop. Christmas morning there it was tucked inside a flannel gown. And I still love it!
